What you can expect from Us...

We have genetically tested the parents of your puppy and have determined that the puppy should have no genetically inherited diseases. We feel that we have done everything possible to ensure the best quality of life for your new pet. Your puppys’ health is guaranteed to be free of any serious life altering genetically inherited diseases for one year. If inherited disease does occur and is verified by a veterinary specialist, we would like you to keep your beloved pet and we will furnish a new Funky Feather Farms puppy of any breed, color, or gender of equal or lesser value at no cost to you (not including shipping). Any vet bills incurred are the responsibility of the buyer.

What we expect from you…

We require that you have a veterinarian appointment set within 2 weeks of receiving your puppy. If the appointment is missed, the health guarantee will be voided. This appointment is to bring peace of mind to you and us that the puppy you received is in good health. Your puppy will have had its first set of shots and will come with a health certificate from our veterinarian signed no later than 10 days before your possession. Failure to provide inoculations on time or regular veterinary care will void this health guarantee. Should the seller ever request proof of vet care or immunizations it must be sent within three business days. You should make sure that any pet within your home is up to date on all vaccinations prior to your possession of the puppy. We encourage all new pet owners to read about parvovirus and take all necessary precautions to protect their puppy.

Exceptions to our guarantee….

If your veterinarian determines that your puppy is in an unhealthy condition with a serious life altering disease within the 48 hours, your veterinarian needs to contact Funky Feather Farms before any treatments are started. Any costs incurred from unauthorized treatment will be at the buyers expense. If serious illness is found we will exercise the right to buy back or replace the puppy. The puppy will need to be verbally surrendered at the time of the appointment and our immediate possession will not be hindered by the buyer, if you refuse this option the health guarantee is voided and the buyer is solely responsible for the care or subsequent mortality of the puppy and all expenses incurred. Any vet fees incurred are the responsibility of the owner unless otherwise agreed upon. We do not cover parvovirus in my health guarantee as it is a highly communicable disease and any expenses incurred for examination and treatment of parvovirus are the buyers responsibility. Your puppy is highly susceptible until the inoculations are complete. We will have taken every precaution to keep your puppy safe from infection up to your taking possession. We also do not cover any orthopedic diagnosis at any time as we are unable to monitor or regulate the puppies weight, exercise, or activities which can result in an orthopedic diagnosis. nutrition on a growing puppy. The seller is not liable for any accidental injury after the buyer takes possession.

Please Remember….

Never put your puppy down on the ground outside or the floor in the veterinarian building. Kindly ask our veterinarians staff to properly sanitize the table before placing your puppy on it. Very sick dogs visit these clinics and it is very important that you take every precaution to properly protect your puppy from being subjected to any illness.

Dog parks, pet shops, puppy schools, grooming facilities, or any other area that other dogs with unknown health may have visited should be avoided until your puppy has completed its series of puppy vaccines. It is very important to your puppy’s health to complete all vaccines and worming.

Exceptions to the guarantee….

In the unfortunate event your puppy is deceased within one year of life due to an inherited genetic disease, the buyer agrees to fund a post mortem examination to be completed by a licensed veterinarian of their choice. The report must be sent to Funky Feather Farms and Dr. Jill Johnson, our veterinarian, within 72 hours of the examination. If our veterinarian also determines the puppy died from an inherited genetic disease the buyer has the option to replace their puppy with another puppy of any breed, size, or gender up to the purchase price of the original puppy. The buyer has 30 days after necropsy is verified to notify us that they would like a replacement. We will make every effort to replace the puppy in a timely manner.

Buyer’s remorse will not render a refund of a deposit or a purchase. We reserve the right to not sell a puppy to anyone if we determine for any reason that our puppy will not be a good match for a client. If this determination is made the buyer will receive a full refund of the deposit. This guarantee is not transferable to any subsequent owners.

Spay or Neuter Contract….

If breeding rights were not purchased you are required to spay or neuter your puppy no later than 18 months of age at the buyer’s expense. If verification is not available or a breeding has occurred you will owe $10,000.00 for the breeding rights.
